Case Study: A Complete Exterior Refresh After 30 Years
Challenge
The Problem
After nearly three decades of protecting the home, the original vinyl siding had reached the point where the homeowners were ready for a change. While the siding had served its purpose for approximately 30 years, the exterior was beginning to feel dated, and the homeowners wanted to improve the home's curb appeal while investing in a more durable, long-lasting exterior.
They weren't simply looking to change the color—they wanted to give the entire home a renewed appearance and add architectural details that would create more dimension and character.
Solution
The Solution
The homeowners partnered with Preferred Home Improvement for a complete siding transformation. After exploring their design options, they selected Harbor Blue siding, a rich and timeless color that provides a bold update while complementing the home's existing architecture.
To add even more visual interest, we installed new pent roofs over the garage and entryway, finished with Charcoal Grey asphalt shingles. These new architectural features help define the home's key areas while adding depth and dimension to the exterior.
The combination of Harbor Blue siding and Charcoal Grey roofing accents creates a strong contrast that gives the home a fresh, modern appearance without sacrificing its character.
The Result
What was once a dated exterior is now a completely refreshed home with a cohesive, updated look. The new siding provides a durable exterior designed to withstand the elements, while the new pent roofs add architectural character and make the garage and entryway stand out.
The project demonstrates how a siding replacement can do more than simply update an aging exterior. With the right color, complementary materials, and thoughtful architectural details, a home can be transformed from the outside in.
