Creating a New Outdoor Living Space

The Problem
The homeowners wanted to create a beautiful, functional outdoor space where they could relax, entertain, and enjoy their backyard. Their existing outdoor area did not provide the dedicated space they envisioned, so they turned to Preferred Home Improvement to design and build a completely new deck.
The goal was to create a spacious, low-maintenance deck that would complement the home while providing plenty of room for outdoor gatherings. The homeowners also wanted a clean, finished look with durable materials that would stand up to everyday use and the elements.

The Solution
Preferred Home Improvement designed and built a 31.5' x 14' TimberTech Legacy deck in Ashwood, creating a substantial new outdoor living area for the homeowners.
The deck features TimberTech Legacy Ashwood decking and railing, providing a cohesive, sophisticated appearance with the durability and low-maintenance benefits of composite decking.
To further enhance the space, we installed a 6.5' x 20' concrete area designed to level with the deck fascia, creating a seamless transition between the deck and surrounding outdoor space. The fascia and riser details were finished in white, adding crisp contrast against the Ashwood decking.
The new staircase features Ashwood steps, tying the entire design together while creating a natural transition from the elevated deck to the yard.
The Result
The finished project transformed the backyard with a completely new outdoor living space designed for both everyday enjoyment and entertaining. The combination of TimberTech Legacy Ashwood decking, white accents, matching Ashwood steps, and the extended concrete area gives the space a clean, polished appearance while providing the homeowners with a durable and functional area they can enjoy for years to come.
